Athens, Alabama 1963 to 1969

One of the hobbies my mom started while we were in Alabama was apple head dolls. This picture is from our high school newspaper dated 9/29/1967 and it shows my mom on the left and my older sister Claire on the right holding dolls my mom has made. Mom did alot of experimentation with different preserving agents to ge the apples to dry completely without turning too dark.
